About the role
This is a synthetic/medicinal chemistry post, funded by the US National Institutes for Health, developing potential treatment agents for drug use disorders.
The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to resynthesize lead compounds for further evaluation by our collaborators in the US.
There is also the opportunity to initiate work towards new chemical biology tools for studying opioid receptors.
About you
A strong background in synthetic medicinal chemistry is preferred.
The preferred candidate will be a synthetic chemist with good laboratory skills.
The preferred candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, including accurate record keeping

A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6) with comparable reduction in responsibilities and amendment in job title to Research Assistant, if a suitable applicant cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position. Applicants will need to be within six months of their course completion date and will be promoted to Research Associate once their PhD has been awarded.
