About the Role
This is an exciting industrial project funded by Innovate UK. The post will be focused on developing islanded microgrid pilot powered by wave energy converters for a remote Island in Thailand under the supervision of Dr Kamyar Mehran.
About You
Applicants must have and Undergraduate and M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. Applicants at the PDRA level must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in working with dSPACE hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators and Wireless Sensor Networks is essential. You should have relevant knowledge in multi-agent control, optimal observer design for microgrid control and energy management system. Further knowledge and experience in machine learning, microgrid power electronics and wave energy converters is desirable.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 18 months or until 30 June 2026. The starting salary will be in the range of Grade 4 (£37,472 - £38,082) for RA per annum and £41,123 (Grade 4) for PDRA per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
