About the role
Are you a Careers Consultant passionate about helping students and graduates shape fulfilling, goal-aligned careers? In this role, you'll support our Careers Consultants across multiple campuses while playing a key part in enhancing services for international students. What you would be doing
In this role, you'll design and deliver engaging career workshops and events, both in-person and online, for students and alumni. You'll provide tailored career support for international students, including resources on global job markets, internships, and graduate opportunities. Central one-to-one career guidance, mock interviews, and skills development will be key responsibilities. You'll also collaborate with employers and maintain up-to-date knowledge of international recruitment practices. Flexibility to work across campuses and occasional evening or weekend work is required.
What we are looking for
- Organising Careers Events and Workshops: Develop and deliver a variety of careers-related workshops, seminars, events, and interventions, both in-person and online, for students, alumni, and staff across all departments.
- Supporting International Students: Design and implement comprehensive career and employability programmes tailored to international students, covering labour market information, business culture, and preparation for work or further study in the UK and abroad.
- Developing Learning Resources: Create and manage online and blended learning materials to assist international students in securing employment in the UK or their home countries.
- Providing Individual Careers Support: Offer one-on-one careers advice, guidance, mock interviews, and skills development sessions both in-person and online.
- Staying Informed on Recruitment Practices: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international recruitment to support students with job applications, interviews, and other selection processes.
- Using Data to Guide Career Development Activities: Collect and analyse data on international students’ career needs and outcomes to inform and prioritise effective career support strategies.
- Employer and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with employers, professional bodies, and related organisations to secure opportunities and resources for students.
- Flexible Work Approach: Adapt to working across multiple campuses and occasionally outside standard hours to meet stakeholder needs and enhance the student experience.
