We are seeking an experienced individual to guide and deliver the strategic and operational activities of the Expanding Excellence in England Project with the aim of creating a new Future Biodetection Technologies Research Hub. This project is funded by Research England and will be delivered in Collaboration with Cranfield, Leeds and Manchester Universities.
Main duties and responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities include implementing strategy and policy to meet the Hub’s aims and objectives. To work independently and with senior management within the Hub and wider University, and to proactively develop alliances with other relevant organisations, and identify new opportunities with business and regional clients. You will need to liaise closely with the Finance Managers, Purchasing Officers, Contracts team and Governance Services, and the Hub partners to ensure accurate data recording and reporting for internal and external data returns, ensure project income and expenditure are effectively managed. You will be central in the coordination of creation of research communications with researchers and internal and external marketing teams for engagement, impact marketing, logo, brochure, and website content etc. You will also identify, create and post, professional social media content relating to Hub activities.
Skills and experience required
You will have experience working in Higher Education administration, and in programme and/or Centre management, including budgeting, setting strategic priorities and managing activities in a Centre-type setting or equivalent departmental setting. You will require a demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder requirements and excellent knowledge and understanding of project management techniques, methods and methodologies.
You will be an excellent communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional approach. As well as the ability to work independently using your own initiative, you will be an excellent team player and be able to meet multiple deadlines whilst managing parallel demands effectively. You will be highly self-motivated, professional, and collegiate in your approach and fully committed to delivering high-quality, professional service.
It is desirable that you will hold a project management qualification. It is also desirable that you can manage a diverse workload with a flexible approach and have experience working to the requirements and regulations of external funders in an HE context.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven relevant experience.
