Nazarene Theological College invites applications for a Counselling BA Pathway Lead and Lecturer. The successful candidate will lead our newly approved Counselling pathway, which is a part of our BA in Theology. This new pathway meets professional counselling accreditation requirements and seeks to integrate counselling training with theology, spirituality, and community development. The candidate will lecture, tutor, and provide professional development for students on this pathway and will work with our broader Practical, Social, and Pastoral Theology team and students. The post holder must be a practising counsellor and be accredited with the BACP or equivalent UK professional body. The successful candidate will also have prior teaching experience. It is desirable that the candidate will also possess a PhD or intends working towards one. A research profile and research supervision experience is desirable, which would allow the candidate to join our research supervision team. Skills in administration will also be an advantage.
The current salary range is £26,800-£38,700, dependent on experience and qualifications. There is the possibility that this role could include some senior administrative quality assurance responsibilities, although these tasks are not listed below. The preferred start date for the post is 1 July 2025 but alternative dates would be considered. This post is not designed for remote working. The appointment will initially be for a one-year probationary period, with the expectation of a permanent rolling contract to take effect subsequently.
