The School of Policy & Global Affairs was established in 2022 and encompasses our Economics, International Politics, and Sociology and Criminology Departments.

Responsibilities
The Student Welfare Officer has responsibility for coordinating and ensuring delivery of activities relating to student welfare, safeguarding, engagement, progression and retention and manages a team of Student Engagement Officers to meet these responsibilities.
The purpose of this post is to have oversight of processes which support the student journey within the School, enhance students’ progression through their studies and to ensure students understand how to access relevant support where available and appropriate.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have experience of providing welfare support and ideally experience of working in Higher Education or with young people.
They will have great communication skills allowing them to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds. A good understanding of professional boundaries is also important.
This role is a job share so will involve working closely with the current role holder who works two days a week.
