Applications are invited for a Senior Lecturer position in Biomaterials, as we seek an experienced candidate to contribute to the significant research endeavours undertaken by the Biomaterials group. The role aims to strengthen some of the extensive research activities of the Biomaterials group, covering areas such as cell-materials interactions, bioactive materials, materials for bioelectronics, additive manufacture, bioprinting, tissue models, bioreactors, biomechanical evaluation and high through-put screening.

To fulfil the research expectations, we will require you to secure research funding, supervise and guide postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers, deliver timely presentations and publications of the research with the protection of intellectual property where appropriate, and engage in/initiate collaborations where relevant.

Teaching responsibilities will be within the Department of Materials and allocated in accordance with the department's practice under the direction of the Head of Department and Line Manager. This will normally focus on topics relating to biomaterials, cell-material interactions, and broader materials science and engineering topics, such as characterisation and data analysis methods, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Administrative duties within the Department of Materials will be assigned by the Head of Department in discussion with the Line Manager.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
