The role
We’re recruiting for a Senior Marketing Officer on a fixed term contract to lead on overseeing the implementation of our over-arching social media strategy and diverse range of multi-channel campaigns.
Working particularly closely with digital marketing, current students, content and creative and media teams, plus marketing and communication colleagues more widely to develop plans and deliver content that form part of the wider marketing strategy, the Senior Marketing Officer will ensure the delivery of engaging content and meaningful interactions with our million followers and support social media practitioners around the University.
The post-holder is responsible for increasing visibility and engagement and ensuring a strong social and digital presence for the University, promoting academic, civic and research strengths, and showcasing the student experience to deliver on the marketing team’s KPIs for recruitment and reputation.

You should apply if
You’re a skilled social media practitioner with a proven track record of working on a high-profile brand, and able to show the real-world impact of previous social media campaigns you’ve worked on. You have experience working on a major brand’s social media strategy and presence, ideally in a HE environment and with international experience. Experience of all major social media platforms, data-led strategic planning and upskilling colleagues is a must, and you are able to read, understand and react to data and analytics.
You can confidently and diplomatically work with colleagues and peers, and look to bring new ideas to the table, with a focus on seeing what works best and keep on top of the latest trends and emerging platforms. You’ve either delivered social media advertising campaigns or worked in tandem with teams that do.
Ideally, you’ll be used to a fast-paced organisation. Flexible and agile, whilst committed to ensuring best practice, quality and clear processes that enable co-creation and collaboration. More than anything you love social media!
