The role
The Centre for Study Abroad supports the university’s internationalisation ambitions by delivering student mobility programmes.
Sitting within the outgoing team, this role will focus on supporting short-term and summer programmes that provide undergraduate students at Bristol the opportunity to study, work, or volunteer abroad in the summer vacation.
This is an exciting area of growth with new programmes being developed every year. The pace is fast and you will gain broad experience working with students, university departments and external organisations.
What will you be doing?
You will take responsibility for managing a shared inbox, answering daily enquiries and escalating more complex issues to the officer. You will regularly check documentation for funding and administer payments to students. You will process data and keep accurate records using our database and MS excel.
You will advise students (and sometimes parents) on the phone about summer programmes, helping them fulfil requirements for funding and prepare for their placement abroad. Once a week you will work from our helpdesk in Global Lounge and provide face-to-face support for students.
You will assist with the development and delivery of promotional and pre-departure events
You should apply if
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain a broad range of experience. You should have excellent IT skills, strong attention to detail for checking documentation and reporting. The small team supports a large number of students and programmes so you will need to be able to organise and prioritise tasks. You will have customer service experience and excellent written and communication skills.
