About the Role
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to undertake exciting research investigations under the supervision of Prof Lei Su in order to realise the objectives and development of the research programme into the development of a chemical sensor using chemical and optical detection technologies. This project is funded EPSRC and involves multiple research partners in the UK.
About You
Candidates with a PhD (or close to completion) in Optical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Optical Physics are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with experimental optics, optical waveguides, soft waveguide sensors, or machine learning will be an advantage.
About the School
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS), a large School with 108 academics, over 250 PhD Students and over 2600 taught students. The staff and student body are international in make-up. The School is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which comprises five schools and two institutes. The Faculty’s student population has grown, both within the UK and overseas, in recent years and its research profile has strengthened considerably. The Faculty is focused on establishing itself as one of the leading Faculties for Science and Engineering in the UK.
