The above full-time post is available from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027, on a fixed term basis, in the Faculty.
The role
Following a significant investment, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computer Science.
We are interested in those researching and/or teaching areas such as smart computing and networking, high-performance and distributed computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and their applications. The new academics will come with a range of experience and expertise, and we will seek to build a strong and diverse team of individuals able to achieve great things together and with colleagues in other fields within and outside the university.
The appointment is a unique opportunity to join the University of Exeter and contribute to the development and delivery of an ambitious research, education agenda using the power of Computer Science, Data Science and AI for the benefit of society.
The post of Lecturer in Computer Science will contribute to extending the research profile of smart computing and networking, high-performance and distributed computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Science at Exeter, particularly in areas related or complementary to smart computing and networking.
The post will fulfil research, teaching and administration duties as a lecturer in Computer Science, extend the research profile of Computer Science and related areas, attract and supervise postdoctorate researchers and postgraduate research students, collaborate with colleagues both within the Faculty and the University of Exeter as a whole, extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to research and appropriate external activities for impact generation.
