The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified NVQ level 2 Plumber with General Maintenance experience to join a small Maintenance team carrying out routine, planned and preventative maintenance across the University of Buckingham estates.
We are looking for a general all-rounder who has good attention to detail with a positive can-do attitude, enjoys working in a customer facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service to our staff, students and guests. The successful candidate would have leadership experience and the ability to lead a team of Maintenance Operatives in the absence of the Maintenance team leader.
Main duties are including but not limited to:
carry out minor repairs such as furniture, equipment, plumbing repairs, including unblocking sinks, toilets and drains when necessary and minor electrical repairs, i.e. fuses, light bulbs, damaged sockets, Removals and facilities
experience or knowledge in other trades/skillsets desirable including Heating, Electrical, Carpentry, Brickwork, Plastering, Tiling, Roofing and General Maintenance.
Ability to lead and delegate tasks effectively across the team and carry out basic administration tasks when required.
General knowledge of Health and Safety legislation essential.
The ideal candidate would have a flexible approach to working hours and be expected to take part in a 24hour call out rota and to also cover external events when required (for additional pay)
