Sheffield Hallam University have an exciting opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team, as an embedded evaluation researcher, in the Health Determinants Research Collaboration South Tees (HDRC ST). The HDRC is part of a national initiative from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to support universities, local authorities and local partners to work together to reduce health inequalities. As an embedded evaluation researcher you will be responsible for developing and delivering six monthly process evaluations which capture the progress and challenges associated with this work, and provide supported learning opportunities for all of those involved to learn from these findings and adapt their approach. The researcher will be employed by Sheffield Hallam University but be based in the South Tees, accommodated in Middlesbrough Council (postal code TS8 0UJ).
The College has a growing involvement in several Health Determinants Research Collaborations and alongside the work directly with HDRC South Tees, you will join a network of researchers associated with the HDRCs in Doncaster and Wakefield, with an opportunity to extend this network over time. Furthermore, this role will feed into the successful research theme of Transforming Place for Health and Wellbeing, led by Dr Katie Shearn at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University.
This role in not based in Sheffield. The role is based in South Tees at Middlesborough Council with occasional travel to Sheffield Hallam University.
You will be degree level educated or with relevant experience in a relevant discipline and have sound knowledge of public health, public sector, health promotion and/or policy development relevant to the aims of the project. You will have a good knowledge of research methods and techniques and their application.
