London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Studio Support Technician.

This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work with a team of professional technicians who support all courses in the school of Arts and Social Sciences, including Film and Television Practice, Media Production, and Acting and Performance.

You will be involved in varied daily tasks that may include assisting with kit preparation and delivery to classes, assisting with testing computer builds and AV and IT troubleshooting, assisting with product research and stock orders, assisting with student projects and performances, assisting with developing online resources and other projects and activities related to the delivery of service in our studios.

You will be learning from an expert technical team and will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience in areas of interest to you.

You will also be gaining experience and insight into the operations of the entire facility, getting to know a wide cross section of our academic and technical activities and the different disciplines that make up our studios.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Practical experience of a range of current specialist media equipment across film, photography, and sound
  • Practical experience of basic IT and AV set ups and troubleshooting
  • Practical experience of one or more creative media software applications

To be successful as the Studio Support Technician you will need to be tech savvy with a positive and ‘can do’ attitude to work, and have an interest and enthusiasm for technology in creative media and performance disciplines.

You will possess some skills in media production pertinent to one or more areas of our operations and some practical knowledge of a range of professional equipment and software related to a creative discipline. You will need to have experience supporting customers in a technical support or training capacity and will be willing to develop your skills across all the disciplines we support.
