An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Resources and Skills Advisor at London South Bank University (LSBU) Southwark Campus.
This is a developmental post running over a 2-year fixed-term period, contributing to the delivery of library services, student customer services, and IT support.
The post is suitable for graduates interested in a career in Higher Education, Libraries or IT support. Postholder will spend several months working with each team across our Customer Service dept based at in the library at LSBU’s Southwark campus. They will use the experience and knowledge they gain to contribute to the continuous improvement of LSCS services.
Alongside colleagues in the Customer Services Team, they will assist library users in finding materials, answer student enquiries on a range of topics, and ensure the library environment is conducive to study including reshelving items.
This post will provide holders with the skills and experience to assume roles across the HE library and IT support sectors and will benefit from an in-house staff development programme. They will also have the opportunity to study for a qualification during their employment, selected from a range of relevant qualifications.
The training aspect of this post will also include the opportunity to attend presentations and learning events on the other areas of LSCS’s work – study skills and digital skills training, archives and open access provision, acquisitions, and library systems; to take part in external library visits and learning events in the HE/FE sector; and will include paid for membership of CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Info Professionals) during the period of your post.
