The Role
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management.
We are looking for a Senior Technician/ Skills Instructor (Healthcare Simulation) to support our clinical skills teaching and simulation sessions. Working as part of the School healthcare simulation technical team, you will assist with the operation, organisation, maintenance, safety and security of healthcare simulation laboratories, classrooms and related facilities specifically to support our Health and Care courses.
Our Successful Candidate
You should hold a BSc (or have equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, ideally alongside experience of providing technical support for clinical skills teaching and healthcare simulation, maintaining and updating equipment, or experience of working in a healthcare setting.
Experience of operating simulation manikins, or of fault-finding and repairing equipment is advantageous.
Additionally, you will be proactive, with excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills and be committed to equality and diversity. The ability to learn new skills and pass these on is essential to the role.
