The Role
As Senior Technician within the Centre for Manufacturing and Materials you will undertake and play a lead role in the in the support of teaching and impactful research and consultancy activity. Support our academics in developing and identifying new research objectives, proposals, and impact activities for your own or joint research, while contributing to REF impact rated nationally/internationally excellent.
You will provide support in facilitating the use of our laboratories and research equipment to enable innovative research to be conducted in the research centre. Building internal and external networks for the exchange of information and future collaboration, sharing information, and identifying potential sources of funds will play a key part of this role.
Contributing to teaching, learning and development programmes as appropriate, you will use your technical knowledge to inform curriculum development while assisting in the development of student research skills.
Our Successful Candidate
A highly motivated and experienced Senior Technician with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of lasers and additive manufacturing systems, including experience contributing to the innovation and development of the field. An Advanced knowledge of techniques with demonstrable adherence to all regulations, you will have the ability to support the development of research experiments, projects, and proposals for research. You will be committed to working collaboratively on research and teaching delivery and dissemination including public engagement, and knowledge exchange.
