The role

The Education Administration Office is based within Education and Student Success. We’re responsible for providing central operational support for key processes in the student lifecycle. 

The role of Lifecycle Administration Manager is an exciting opportunity to lead on efficient and effective delivery of high-quality services related to the student lifecycle, which includes examinations, graduation, timetabling and student records administration, ensuring an excellent service to stakeholders. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring a strong focus on continuous improvement to meet user needs and deliver ongoing enhancement of the student experience.

What will you be doing?

Provide effective management of a central team of administrators and subject matter experts. You’ll provide excellent day-to-day management, clarity of direction, support to acquire the skills needed to do the job brilliantly and empower their personal development.

Understand how the student lifecycle at the University of Bristol works. You’ll understand key milestones in the student lifecycle and support the delivery of these through careful planning and liaison with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive forward process improvements and manage change. You’ll ensure the team’s processes are fit for the future and can accommodate the future challenges of the higher education sector and internal initiatives, which may lead to changed ways of working.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of key elements of the student lifecycle. You and the team will manage key milestones from Registration to Award verification and a range of activities in between including Timetabling, Examinations and Graduation.
  • Be accountable for the quality and accuracy of the work your team produce. You’ll make sure the team has the policies and procedures in place to ensure compliance with University regulations. You’ll also manage the maintenance of the team’s library of user documentation, regularly reviewing it to make sure it’s up to date.

  • You have experience managing complex and senior stakeholder groups and are able to build excellent relationships to achieve a shared goal.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to change and process improvement.
  • You are comfortable leading teams through substantial change.

Nice to have:

  • You have experience of working in examinations, timetabling or graduation in an HE environment.
