This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Research Associate to work within the Radiotherapy Related Research (RRR) group in the Division of Cancer Sciences. In particular, the post holder will play a key role in developing Professor Cynthia Eccles’ research projects within the CRUK RadNet Manchester program of radiotherapy research and the Translational Radiotherapy Research (TRR) grouping.
The post holder will be part of a dynamic team of Allied Health Professional (AHP) researchers, led by Professor Eccles. Work in this team focuses on translating technical advances in radiotherapy into personalised cancer care, with a particular emphasis on the introduction of MRI guided adaptive radiotherapy. The group has a particular interest in functional MRI to measure on-treatment tumour and normal tissue response, focusing on tumour hypoxia and inflammation in the surrounding normal tissues, MRI guided adaptive radiotherapy and corelating these imaging biomarkers to tissue and/or blood biomarkers. The team collaborates closing with colleagues in medical physics and translational radiobiology.
The position offers a fantastic opportunity for a well-motivated individual with an excellent scientific knowledge base and an enthusiasm for clinical and translational research to develop research within an inter-disciplinary team in this rapidly growing, exciting field of research. As a member of CRUK RadNet Manchester, there are multiple opportunities to meet and collaborate both internally and externally with colleagues working across our national network and participate in national workshops and conferences. The post will be based at the Paterson Building on The Christie campus in Withington, South Manchester.
