About the role
We are looking for a pro-active and motivated Programmes Administrator to join the Faculty of Engineering & Design Courses and Assessment Support Team.
You will play a key role in the team, working collaboratively with other professional services and academic colleagues, to ensure the smooth and efficient administration and operation of the taught degree courses in the Faculty of Engineering and Design.
Working alongside one other administrator, you will primarily support the undergraduate courses business for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Your core responsibilities will focus on assessment related processes in support of the student lifecycle.
You will also provide day-to-day administrative support for teaching, assessment, and student data management activities. This will include maintaining student records on the University’s student records database, supporting Directors of Studies, and responding to enquiries from students and academic colleagues.
We are a small team and as such, all members of the team are expected to work flexibly and collaboratively in support of each other. Programme Administrators may be required to work across departments to ensure delivery of the Faculty’s core assessment and progression business.
This position is offered full time from 10th February 2025. This is a 12-month fixed term role providing parental leave cover with an expected end date of 10th February 2026, subject to the early return of the post holder.
About you
Our ideal candidate:
Experience in the use of University-specific software (e.g. Moodle, SAMIS/SITS and Business Objects) is desirable, though not essential, since training will be provided. Most important is an interest in our work, a willingness to become fully involved in Team business, and the life of the Faculty and its departments.
We care about student and staff well-being, excellent service, and University reputation. If this approach resonates with you, and you are a good team player who also enjoys working independently and taking initiative, we would welcome an application from you.
Further information
We are currently operating a hybrid work model, so there would be the opportunity to work from home if desired, with a three day per week minimum on campus requirement. One of the on campus working days must be a Wednesday.
