Applications are invited for a fixed-term, full-time Research Technician to work in the National Wastewater-Based Epidemiology Laboratory within the School of Environmental and Natural Sciences at Bangor University.
Duties will include supporting research and wastewater surveillance activities in the Laboratory. Working within a team, the successful candidate will help process all types of water samples, including untreated and treated wastewater, sludge, surface water, groundwater and drinking water and performing analysis. The Research Technician will input analysis data into databases and will be responsible for sample quality assurance and data handling. They will also support the maintenance of laboratory activities daily as and when required.
Candidates should be educated to A Level standard (or equivalent), be able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of laboratory techniques, have experience and knowledge of assisting research groups or teaching groups in a laboratory situation and be aware of H&S issues in a relevant laboratory situation.
The postholder will be required to work 36.25 hours over 5 days per week, with 3 different shift patterns: 08.00-16.00 h, 09.00-17.00 h and 10.00-18.00 h, that will be scheduled in advance.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and the post is available until 31 October 2027.
