Student Communications and Content Development Officer

Location: Singleton Campus, Swansea

About The Role

Student Partnership and Engagement Services is seeking a creative individual to join the team and help lead impactful student communications.

The primary aim of the role is to develop and create dynamic and engaging content for students at Swansea University, across a wide range of platforms. The post holder will be skilled in editing, creating, and delivering relevant and high-quality communications to a wide audience.

Working in partnership with the Students’ Union, Faculties, Professional Services and Academies the Officer will help to enable the University to deliver on its commitment to working with students as partners and to deliver an exceptional student experience.

The post will include:

• Creating and delivering communications plans for significant activities in the student journey.
• Developing relationships with other stakeholders across the University to create a communications community and the sharing of best practice.
• Managing and maintaining content calendars, using analytics tools to monitor engagement and undertaking competitor analysis to ensure student communications are forward-thinking and impactful for Swansea University.
• Helping to manage and deliver University-wide student communications campaigns such as the National Student Survey and other student engagement activity and feedback.
• The management and motivation of a small team responsible for delivering communications and campaigns.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience in motivating stakeholders. Responsible for protecting our reputation and identity, the role requires a keen eye for detail and strong editing and copywriting abilities.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
