The Team
The Hardware Asset Management team is responsible for the oversight of the full lifecycle of hardware assets for the University, which includes procurement, storage, distribution, movement and disposal/recycling of assets. The team is critical to ensuring that IT Services is optimising the value, costs and risks associated with the University’s hardware asset estate.
The Role
The Hardware Asset Management team is responsible for supporting the oversight of the full lifecycle of hardware assets for the University, which includes procurement, storage, distribution, movement and disposal/recycling of assets. The team is critical to ensuring that IT Services is optimising the value, costs and risks associated with the University’s hardware asset estate.
The Hardware Asset Management - Recycling Assistant post is a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Hardware Asset Management function. The post holder will collect and test refurbished IT equipment, as well as deploy devices such as laptops and desktops. The Recycling Assistant will also be expected to update the Asset Database as equipment is returned or deployed.
The Recycling Assistant role can be physically demanding, and as it supports the entirety of the University campus, it is a fully on-site post. As it is essential that PPE is worn for this role, this will be provided.
