ABOUT US
Transforming lives through excellent education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
The Department of Student Recruitment and Business Development is responsible for the entire prospective student lifecycle up to and including enrolment. Covering both domestic and international cohorts, the Department's priority is ensuring excellent levels of lead generation and conversion to support strong enrolment each intake, underpinning the University’s strategic goals.
Student Recruitment is an established team with a key pillar of the departmental strategy to work in partnership with external industry experts and third parties to ensure leveraging the best the private sector can offer and being market-leaders in our approach to student recruitment.
ABOUT THE POST
You will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of success in student recruitment, ideally within a Higher Education context. You are strategic, innovative, data and results-driven, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and identify new opportunities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and lead a team are essential. Experience in international recruitment is a significant advantage.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Director of Student Recruitment will be responsible for the strategic development and operational leadership of both our domestic and international recruitment. Over the last 5 years the University has grown from 8,500 students to over 14,000 on campus, the Director will need to consolidate that growth and refresh the strategy for both home and overseas student recruitment in the context of a very competitive and aggressive regional and international environment.
You will work closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor and the rest of the University's Senior Leadership Team, Academic Schools and Professional Service Departments to establish an integrated, digitally focused approach, working with our industry partners to secure the development of London Met's recruitment pipelines internationally.
Foster a culture of inclusivity and student-centred recruitment practices that reflect the diverse nature of our student body.
The University is an agile organisation that is not risk-averse and is looking to make an appointment of someone that already has the knowledge, experience and contacts to review the strategy and ensure the University can meet its strategic targets. There will be further progression and developmental opportunities for the successful candidate.
We are continually evolving and we would like to invite the very best to come and join us.
