About us
The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care, which is headed by Professor Fiona Stevenson. The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive, multi-disciplinary research, addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.
About the role
The main role of the post will be to lead the data management and analysis of primary care electronic health records, to gain insight into long-term consequences of perinatal depression. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a quantitative researcher who is interested in mental health, and has experience in analysis of electronic health records.
About you
We anticipate that you have:
• A Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. epidemiology or public health)
• A PhD in Epidemiology or equivalent research experience.
• An interest in mental health.
• Experience in quantitative research and experience in analysis of electronic health records

Application Details:
• This role is funded until 28 February 2026, in the first instance.
• Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on award and confirmation of a PhD (or equivalent). If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Associate Grade 6B, point 28 (salary £41,005 per annum inclusive of London allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
