Job Description
We are looking for a proactive Senior Timetabling Officer to join our dedicated team. This leadership role involves managing the academic timetable at our Newton Park campus and supporting activities at Locksbrook Road and London campuses. You'll play a key role in implementing a new timetabling and room booking system, collaborating with senior staff and stakeholders to create a balanced, efficient schedule that meets the needs of students, staff, and the university's estate. (This is a 24-month fixed-term contract)
About the Role
As Senior Timetabling Officer, you will lead the collection of timetable requirements from Course Leaders and senior academics, shaping requests to improve efficiency and support both student and estate needs. You will coordinate room bookings and scheduling with key stakeholders, including senior staff and the Students’ Union, while becoming an expert in Syllabus Plus software to ensure accuracy and resolve any clashes. Providing specialist support via email and the CRM system, you will also help improve attendance monitoring, deliver reports on timetable and room usage, and play a key role in the implementation of a new timetabling system.
About You
You will have a degree or significant experience in Higher Education, with extensive administrative expertise and proficiency in computerised systems. Strong customer service skills, experience working with diverse stakeholders, and excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities are essential. You should be detail-oriented, able to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment, and work both independently and within a team. Experience with timetabling software, particularly in Higher Education, is desirable. In return, we offer a rewarding role with opportunities for professional development in a supportive, collaborative environment.
