We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager who can combine their understanding of project management processes and tools with an ability to connect and communicate with University leaders, key stakeholders, project team members and students to ensure that the SAIL strategic project delivers the desired benefits on time and on budget.
Supporting Academic Innovation and Learning (SAIL) is a key transformational project, which will deliver on the implementation of the new academic framework designed to improve student outcomes and support the university’s sustainability.
Key responsibilities will include: creating and maintaining realistic project plans, regular communications to stakeholders, as well as regular progress reporting to the Strategic Portfolio Board; managing an effective change control procedure and ensure that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off; as well as identifying specific measures and mechanisms by which benefits can be assessed, and developing plans to activate these mechanisms at the required time.
You will have significant demonstrable experience of delivering successful projects in a complex environment and supporting large cross-institutional change/transformation project. You will be a skilled planner and organiser, who uses formal project management techniques to manage the concept, definition and delivery stages of projects, coordinate the work of project teams and ensure that work is delivered to agreed standards.
You will be proactive in driving the project progress and work closely with the Project Sponsor, the Director of Planning and Strategic Projects and the Project Board. You will also have an ability to engage multiple stakeholders at all levels, including third party suppliers. Professional Services/Support staff on RU7 and above have access to the University’s Retirement Savings Group Pension Plan, a defined contribution scheme, provided by Royal London.
