About the role
A Research Fellow position is available in the Tom Baden lab. The study will aim at elucidation of the ancestral template of vertebrate vision.
Utilising cutting-edge multi-electrode arrays (MEA) and custom-made visual stimuli, the successful candidate will identify principles of visual processing in the “living fossil” retina of elasmobranch species, focusing primarily on the small-spotted catshark Scyliorhinus canicula.
The project will involve both experiments and large-scale data analysis, as well as regular maintenance of the current elasmobranch facility.
About you
Applicants should have a strong background in a quantitative subject related to neuroscience and have prior experience with either sensory systems or high-throughput recordings of neuronal activity (MEA or 2-photon imaging).
You will be working in a vibrant and multidisciplinary research environment in diverse and active research group (https://badenlab.org/) at the department of Neuroscience, School of Life Sciences.
