The Faculty wishes to recruit a Research Associate or Fellow with strong quantitative skills,  postdoctoral or graduate at associate level (Grade E) or postdoctoral fellow level (Grade F) to support the work of Dr Amy Webster. This Cancer Research UK funded post is available from November 2024 to November 2025. The successful applicant will investigate the DNA methylation patterns of screen detected lung cancer tumours in collaboration with the SUMMIT trial at UCL.

The post will include analysis of genome-wide DNA methylation data from lung cancer samples, and analysis of long-read sequencing data. The successful candidate will gain experience in analysis of large-scale epigenetic datasets and long read sequencing techniques.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to perform high quality data analysis on large (epi)genomic datasets and demonstrate enthusiasm for producing high quality research outputs. Experience of analysis of DNA methylation data using array based or sequencing based methods would be beneficial.
