University of East Anglia (UEA) has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Soil Technician/Analyst to assist in the research under the supervision of Professor Brian Reid to work on the UKRI Funded OpenLAND project.
 
The role involves planning and delivering fieldwork to collect soil samples and assess them. We are seeking someone with expertise in soil chemical analysis, soil carbon assessment, and ideally the use of dry combustion CHN/O and thermogravimetric analysis techniques. Experience in environmental sampling is also essential. Proficiency in Excel for data processing and presentation is also required. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in generating soil carbon data for the project and collaborating with the team. 

This position offers a unique chance to work on groundbreaking research in the UK, conducting both laboratory work at UEA and fieldwork across the East of England and nationally. You may also need to undertake work outside normal office hours, potentially evenings and weekends.   

This full-time post is available from 1 January 2025 on a fixed term basis for 24 months.
