Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

Main duties and responsibilities

The postholder will support the set-up of the project, assisting with the scoping, tender process, and any other matters relating to the procurement of a replacement Student Record System. Once procured the postholder will be required to support with the operational implementation of the system solution chosen by the University to replace the current Student Record System.

There will be a requirement for the postholder to co-ordinate activities and information relating to the procurement and implementation processes, supporting the production of detailed operational plans and implementation documentation.

Skills and experience required

You will have proven excellent project management skills and experience working in a Higher/Further Education, Local Authority or similar environment, including experience supporting committees and working groups and minute taking. You will have experience of managing work activities which require a high level of collaborative working, time management and negotiating skills in a busy environment and the ability to engage with a wide range of people in a customer focused environment. 

You will have proven expertise in the production of key documents to support project implementation and the preparation of documentation to support the mainstreaming of key business processes, for example training materials, user guides and data collection templates. Proven IT skills at an appropriate level, with competency in use of standard applications is essential for this role.

You will possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and be able to demonstrate a high standard of communication, both oral and written, being able to articulate ideas to experts and lay audiences and have strong persuasion and negotiation skills. This role requires you to have a high standard of customer care and an appropriate manner in dealing with a range of different stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills, including problem solving and project management skills. You must be able to prioritise your workload effectively, exercising good time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines. You will be a self-motivated individual, who is flexible to team and workload requirements and able to motivate others and work effectively in a team whilst working calmly under pressure using your own initiative.

Qualifications required

Educated with a degree or equivalent level 6 qualification, or proven administrative experience.
