We are looking to expand our team with inspirational Associate Lecturers (ALs) who have a passion for delivering high quality learning experiences and exceptional student support gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both. You will join our Allied Health Professions team situated in the School of Health and Social care to contribute to our mission to transform the lives of our students.
We would expect you to have strong technical skills, an understanding of developments within the service sector and a solid understanding of current trends and impacts.
You may be currently working in a relevant industry and/or have spent time working in a relevant industry and may be interested in combining this with your enthusiasm and ability to pass on your knowledge and experience by creating and delivering high quality learning, teaching, and assessment.
We are looking for people who can support students in the following areas:
You may be asked to teach modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and will also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments. Dissertation supervision may also be part of your role.
Becoming an AL can be an excellent introduction to teaching in higher education. Some teaching experience would be an advantage; however, you may have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant from both an academic and/or professional perspective in areas such as research and service development or leadership/management.
