Applications are invited for an Associate Professor in Biomedical Sciences Education, within the School of Life Sciences, University of Nottingham.

This teaching and curriculum leadership-focussed role will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning, underpinned by scholarship related to the discipline. A proven track record in educational leadership and innovation with evidence of impact is essential as the role also comes with significant leadership responsibility as Head of the Education Division. The Division provides leadership and informs development strategy for teaching-focussed academic colleagues as well as sharing best practice and educational innovation with all academics in the School of Life Sciences. This role is a senior leadership role and the Division head will sit on School Management Committee and contribute to other committees.

The postholder will undertake teaching and leadership responsibilities across the School. Our educational offering spans BSc, MSci and MSc programmes in Sports and Exercise Science, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry and Biology as well as a bespoke foundation science programme. We are also developing new programmes (Biomedical Sciences) and contribute to both the professional degrees of Pharmacy and Medicine. We are therefore seeking an individual who can teach across a broad range of biomedical sciences disciplines. You will act as a personal tutor and supervise UG or PGT project students, working closely with programme leads and our Education and Student Experience team. The appointee will also contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and enhancement; undertake continuing professional development; and work in partnership with staff and students to maintain the highest standards in all areas of their work.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in a Biomedical Sciences discipline and a Higher Education teaching qualification or equivalent. You will also have a successful track record in teaching and leadership in an area related to education and the student experience. The School of Life Sciences is a large, diverse and supportive unit and provides a formal mentorship scheme and extensive collaborative opportunities. There are further opportunities for collaboration across the faculties of Medicine and Science, and in the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is a full time (36.25 hour), permanent position. However, we are open to discuss flexible working arrangements, and job share arrangements may also be considered.
