Summary of the role
This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a small team of operatives supplying a high level of service.
Reporting to the Mechanical Team leader you will be a member of the operational team working alongside other maintenance operatives in the Electrical & Mechanical/Building & Structural Services. Estate Services is responsible for the planning, safety, provision, adaptation and maintenance of buildings, grounds and associated services and for the development and maintenance of the University’s estate.
The main responsibilities of the role are with the Mandatory, Statutory and Customer based Planned Maintenance and Reactive Works across the estate. These works cover areas such as Filter Changes, Mechanical fault diagnosis and repair, maintenance etc. The operative will be working within our Grounds, Academic, Research and Residential properties ensuring our compliance and safety.
We are looking for a customer focused team player who can work alone or in a team and be able to use initiative to prioritise work demands and meet deadlines. Having prior experience or qualifications in Structural Works would be advantageous, you will have a starter/finisher mentality and methodical approach to work, as well as an understanding of all relevant health and safety legislation that accompanies these tasks.
