About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Outreach Officer to join the Schools and Colleges Engagement team within the Corporate Marketing Directorate. This role will support the delivery of our Access and Participation Plan and Education Action Plan by working closely with partners, local authorities, charities, and community groups. You will develop and deliver face-to-face and virtual activities aimed at engaging primary, secondary, and Further Education students, along with their parents and carers. These activities, held both on-campus and in local communities, will focus on key target groups, including care leavers, students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), military families, and Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showmen, and Boater (GRTSB) communities.
To succeed in this role, you should hold a degree, be part qualified, or have equivalent experience. A passion for working with diverse groups is essential, along with solid knowledge of progression routes to higher education. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are crucial, as you'll engage a variety of audiences and build relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders. Based at our Cambridge campus, the role offers agile working arrangements with regular travel within the Eastern Region, occasional inter-campus travel, and some work outside standard hours.
