About the role
The University of Sussex is seeking an accomplished and experienced leader to join the Housing Services team. You will lead, support and develop our Housing team and take ownership of the day to day running of the Accommodation Office whilst reviewing and re-shaping our customer service approach.
Taking the team with you, and seeing the potential in everyone is essential to ensure the team are equipped with the skills that they need to deliver the service.
You will join the service at an exciting time for student accommodation at Sussex, as we continue to refresh and expand our housing portfolio of over 5,000 campus bed spaces rising to nearly 7000 by 2028 whilst promoting a quality student housing experience.
Excellent leadership skills, initiative and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, are essential, as is the ability to solve problems and make recommendations.
About you
You will have prior experience of managing and developing several teams with differing priorities; have experience of leading a team through change and have outstanding interpersonal skills, proven organisational skills and a strong resonance with the vision and values of the University.
You may have experience of working in a Housing environment, but this is not essential, however what is essential is your ability to champion our service, develop our team, care about our students, be customer focused and work collaboratively with a number of other University teams.
You will possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to communicate with team members effectively.
