Job Description
We are currently seeking a Procurement Administrator to provide administration support and continuous improvement processes within the Procurement Team at Bath Spa University (The possibility of a job share will also be considered for the right candidates)
About the Role
As our Procurement Administrator you will assisting the Procurement Team with managing supplier accounts, conducting due diligence to mitigate supply chain risks, and supporting and adhering to university policies and achieving best value for money. You will assist with various procurement activities, including tender processes, spend analysis, and the promotion of consortia arrangements. The position requires close collaboration with Schools, Colleges, Professional Services, and the Accounts Payable Team, as well as maintaining accurate records and supporting internal and external audits. You will also be working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Schools/Colleges and Professional Services to ensure appropriate service levels are agreed and achieved. In addition, you may represent Finance and the University in Finance-related committees, working groups and user groups as relevant to the role.
About You
You will be a detail-oriented individual with strong administrative experience and a good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English (grade C or above) or equivalent. You will possess excellent IT skills, particularly in Outlook, Word, and Excel, and demonstrate a proactive approach to customer service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. The role requires effective negotiation, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to prioritise workload and meet close deadlines.

The post holder will need to be available (occasionally at short notice) for team and department events, so this role would ideally suit someone who lives locally.
