This post is to cover the absence of the substantive post holder, who will shortly be taking a period of maternity leave.
We are seeking a professional, friendly and highly organised individual to join the RAI’s professional services team as Academic Programme and Events Officer.
About the role
The RAI is Oxford’s centre for the study of the United States and its place in the world. Every year we host a programme of more than 100 events which attract leading scholars and public figures from across the world. We have a lively and welcoming academic community made up of a small administration team plus Oxford post holders, early career researchers, graduate students, librarians, and visiting fellows.
In this role you will be at the centre of this activity and play a key part in making it all happen. You will lead on the planning and implementation of all RAI events and communications and on the administration of our academic programme. You will also assist with general administration related to the running of the RAI.
About you
You will have events management and communications experience and will be expected to utilise a range of communications skills, in particular but not exclusively digital communication, in order to promote the activities of the Institute. You should be flexible and have the ability to work well in a team environment as well as having the competence and confidence to work independently. A positive and proactive attitude is imperative. You will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and written skills, warm and welcoming manner, and the ability to motivate and lead other people in relation to events.
