Cleaner (Part-time)

The University of Aberdeen is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and dependable cleaner to join our friendly team of dedicated cleaning staff who take great pride in providing high standards of service across the University estate.

Consisting of approximately 75 staff, the Cleaning Services team works within the Facilities Services section of the Directorate of Estates and Facilities and provides a comprehensive cleaning service across the University campuses. The team ensure that a clean, hygienic and safe environment is maintained for students, staff and visitors to the institution. Activities extend right across the academic and administrative buildings on the Estate, and also incorporate services to the University libraries and sports facilities and providing support for institutional events and other on campus activities.

The post holder may be based at any premises the University occupies and may be required to work at any University location, so a flexible approach is important.

Excellent timekeeping and communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and independently and being reliable are all essential requirements.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the cleaning industry and be conversant with relevant Health and Safety procedures and protocols, including COSHH and manual handling.

Hours of work: Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 2:00am (part-time, nightshift), 20 hours per week.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 1, £22,776 per annum, pro rata (£12 per hour).
