Applications are invited for a Researcher to work with a team working with Professor Andrew Farmer on a research programme on the use of wearable devices in the home care of patients and social service users (including care home residents) in the UK.

The successful applicant will contribute to the early evaluation of wearable devices in individuals receiving support from hospital and social services, including in a care home setting, in the UK. Responsibilities will include conducting thorough literature reviews and synthesise findings, submit applications to ethics committees, project management including recruitment of research participants, data collection, prepare research papers to high-impact journals, present research findings at conferences. You will also facilitate PPI events and project manage including coordinate project timelines and deliverables, work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals.

You will have a PhD in a relevant field (eg Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Biomedical Engineering), strong organisational and project management skills, experience in conducting PPI activities and working with patients and service users, and proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods.

You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work. Please note that remote working will not be possible on a regular basis due to the direct working needed to iterate intervention development with users and develop an understanding of clinical and service delivery pathways.

The position is offered full-time (part time working may be considered with a minimum of 0.6FTE) and fixed-term for one year in the first instance, or until 31 December 2025, whichever is earliest. We have two posts available.
