Middlesex University is seeking an effective and motivated Marketing Officer to support subject-specific marketing activities for the Business & Law Faculty. Reporting to the Faculty Marketing Manager and the Head of Student Marketing & Campaigns, the Marketing Officer will play a key role in delivering an effective annual marketing plan aimed at student recruitment and reputation building.

This position is crucial in helping the Faculty meet its student recruitment targets in both quality and quantity. The Marketing Officer will develop an in-depth understanding of the student recruitment market, including target audience motivations, influencers, and their emotional journey. This knowledge will inform marketing activities and campaigns, ensuring messaging aligns with Middlesex University’s position and appeals to prospective students.

Collaborating with the Faculty Marketing Manager and Head of Student Marketing & Campaigns, the Marketing Officer will create annual faculty marketing plans. They will execute effective marketing communications both online and in print, showcasing Middlesex University’s offerings in engaging and innovative formats. Partnering with digital and content marketing teams, they will maintain relevant and compelling content on the university’s website and social media channels. The Marketing Officer will provide marketing tools, messaging, and assets to support the prospective student journey from campaign to enrolment. They will coordinate specific student recruitment marketing projects, events, and activities, including Open Days.

Working with the Education Liaison & Outreach team, they will enhance school, enquirer, and influencer-focused activities. Additionally, they will set and monitor KPIs for all marketing activities, reporting progress and outcomes. Assisting the Faculty Marketing Manager, the Marketing Officer will develop advertising campaigns that attract target audiences and drive applications.

They will contribute to advertising campaign briefs, focusing on messaging, collateral, and audience insights. Collaborating with the Brand & Creative team, they will develop compelling campaign creatives and messaging. Working with the Digital Marketing team, they will track and report on campaign effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement. Post-campaign analysis will be conducted to inform future activities. Ensuring brand positioning, value proposition, and core offerings are compelling and consistent across all marketing communications, the Marketing Officer will regularly monitor and report on competitor activities to ensure Middlesex University stands out in the market. They will collaborate with academic and service colleagues to understand Middlesex University’s offerings and produce effective marketing tools. Additionally, they will support internal reporting on marketing objectives as required.
