About the role

We are seeking an Associate Professor to join Leicester Law School and play a key role in advancing our teaching and research. You will teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules, with a focus on providing research-led, innovative teaching methods that enhance student learning experiences. Additionally, you will contribute to the administration and broader activities of the School, such as student support initiatives, research seminars, and external collaborations.

In this role, you will also lead the development and revision of degree programmes, ensuring they are inclusive and responsive to contemporary educational needs, including embedding sustainable development goals. Your research will be of international significance, and you will be encouraged to build partnerships and secure research funding while engaging with national and international research networks. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact the academic strategy of the School and provide students with a world-class educational experience.

About you

You will have a strong academic background with both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in law, alongside a PhD. With a proven track record of internationally recognised publications and securing external research funding, you will have experience in supervising PhD students through to completion.

We are interested in candidates able to deliver teaching and research in any area of Law although the ability to teach one or more foundations of legal knowledge would be required (Criminal Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Equity & Trusts Law, Public Law, EU Law/Retained EU Law, Land Law).

We would welcome applications particularly from candidates with research interests in Law & Technology broadly defined (AI & Law, ethical aspects of the use of AI and its impact in Law, generative AI and the legal professions, Cyber-security, Cyber Law, Blockchain, FinTech, RegTech etc.).

Your ability to contribute to innovative teaching, combined with a commitment to educational excellence, will be essential. You will also have the interpersonal skills necessary to mentor students and colleagues, work effectively in teams, and lead teaching and research programmes.
