Join a dynamic team at the forefront of electrical maintenance for one of Oxford University’s newest and most innovative buildings—the Life and Mind Building (LaMB).

As an experienced Electrician, you will play a key role in the final stages of this exciting project (opening in March 2025), and thereafter. You'll ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems in a state-of-the-art facility, working alongside the University Estates team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting planned and reactive maintenance
  • Providing electrical support for essential systems (HVAC, boilers, plant equipment).
  • Supervising contractors and supporting apprentice training.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to deliver high-quality service.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Educated to at least City and Guilds part three or equivalent level-
  • Significant experience in electrical wiring and fault diagnosis in facilities maintenance, particularly in scientific, laboratory, or technical research environments.
  • Experience working in occupied premises, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Experience with CAFM systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of electrical systems.
  • Ability to supervise contractors and manage electrical projects independently.
  • Strong understanding of British health and safety policies
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with control systems (e.g., TREND IQ Vision & 963).
  • Electrical maintenance experience with mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, pumps, boilers).
