We’re the organisation that looks after England’s most important buildings and monuments, making sure our country’s amazing history is available for everyone to enjoy. From world-famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, Roman forts to a Cold War bunker, we bring the history of England to life.

We are looking for a Guardians (Patrons) Executive to join us on a full time, permanent basis.

You will be joining a growing Development Department which prides itself on a culture of collaboration and where all of our members have the ability to act as an ambassador for the wider charity.

English Heritage Guardians are a cohort of like-minded supporters who champion the work of the charity and who benefit from exclusive experiences and bespoke events that take them to the heart of England’s heritage. This is an incredible opportunity for a fundraising professional with experience of patrons and regular-giving schemes.

What’s more, as part of our charity bringing history to life, you’ll be supported and encouraged to share your ideas, inspire others and make a difference to the way England’s rich past is experienced.

As our Guardians (Patrons) Executive, you will be responsible for developing and reinvigorating our Guardians scheme as well as cultivating and stewarding a growing pool of patrons.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience of face to face fundraising.
- Successful supporter acquisition, retention, and pipeline development.
- Understanding of the principles of marketing (preferably fundraising marketing) and supporter relationship development.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills that allow you to liaise with colleagues, prospects and donors.
- Effective organisational and time management skills, the ability to adapt and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
