About the Role

As Academic Services Partner you will play a key role in supporting the academic experience for our Screen and Film students. You’ll work closely with campus-based academic teams to ensure smooth operations in curriculum management, quality assurance, compliance, and student data management. You will also be the designated Academic Services lead for the Screen and Film curriculum area, ensuring all processes align with university standards and policies.

This role is student-centred and focused on delivering exceptional support, requiring collaboration with academic leaders and staff across the university.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Academic Services Teams: Guide and support campus-based administration teams to ensure compliance with university policies related to quality, standards, and governance.
  • Provide Subject-Specific Support: Act as the Academic Services lead for the Screen and Film curriculum, coordinating course modifications, and contributing to study boards, assessment boards, and progression boards.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate student records, including assessment data, and provide regular reporting to highlight risks to student progression or completion.
  • Student Enrolment & Engagement: Assist with the enrolment of new students and the re-enrolment of current students. Oversee the implementation of student attendance tracking (SEAT) and advise on interventions for at-risk students.
  • Collaboration & Development: Work closely with Deans, Heads of School, and Course Leaders to support academic operations and provide training and development activities for academic services teams.
  • MetFilm School Partnership: Deliver Academic Services support to the MetFilm School for up to 15 hours a week, ensuring alignment with BIMM’s standards and Service Level Agreements.

What You'll Bring:

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in academic administration or exams, with a thorough understanding of the higher education landscape and a student-focused approach.
  • Exceptional data management and report writing skills, with a proven ability to maintain high-quality records and improve administrative systems to enhance the student experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and train and develop staff both within and outside of direct line management.
  • A track record of successfully applying university policies across multiple locations and improving systems and processes to benefit students and staff.
