We are looking for Academic Engagement Coaches to join the Student Support and Success Directorate.
Academic Engagement Coaches are at the heart of our work supporting our students most ‘at-risk’ of not achieving good academic outcomes (in particular continuation and completion). You’ll work as a part of specialists and with students every day, designing study plans and working with academic colleagues and specialist professional services teams to ensure that we put in place early interventions for ‘at-risk’ groups and respond rapidly to indicators of low student engagement. You will be responsible for identifying, planning, and monitoring the impact of our interventions with students.
Academic Engagement Coaches will be expected outstanding communicators, with a commitment to supporting every single student. You’ll be proactive, engaging, and confident in your approach, no issue will be too large or too small for you to get to grips with. You’ll be working with students every day and using your networks across the University to identify the best way to support students. You’ll lead meetings, make data lead decisions, and be involved in critical moments in the student journey. You’ll also be linked with a school/faculty, developing strong relationships with those that matter most. The ultimate goal is to support every student to progress throughout their course, achieve in their studies and graduate.
