Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Our Human Resources Business Partnering team is highly valued for the quality of its HR advice and support. We’re excited to be recruiting to this Assistant HR Business Partner position primarily to support Uno Bus with practical hands-on support for the full range of HR advice including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and sickness absence casework. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

In this post you will be the first point of contact for all HR matters at Uno Bus, from coaching managers through informal inquiries to formal stages, including investigations and hearings. You will handle a variety of people-related issues efficiently and effectively, such as contractual matters as well as the full range of HR policies and guidance for the full employee lifecycle.

Building and maintaining positive professional relationships with Uno Bus Managers and with the HR Team will be a key aspect of your work. Your proactive approach will help promote excellent employee relations, including with recognised trade union representatives. Additionally, you will work closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) with ER casework investigations and project work as required.

Staying updated on developments in employment legislation, case law, and best practices in the UK – particularly in the transport industry - is essential in this role. You will use this knowledge to inform policy and practice, contributing to HR policy development and project work that aligns with business objectives.

Skills and experience required

To be successful in this position you will need a keen eye for detail, excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of employment law and HR practices along with your abilities to persuade others and communicate with a variety of audiences.

Qualifications required

Your professional HR qualification and degree (or equivalent), or higher, or proven work experience will be essential whilst having CIPD membership or working towards would be advantageous.
