We are seeking a Study/Trial Co-ordinator to take on the ongoing coordination of an established research study. The EMBED study is part of a larger programme of research aimed to develop blood tests that could aid in the earlier detection of some cancers, specifically breast and ovarian cancer.

The role holder will have been educated to HND/HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications or have an equivalent level of practical experience.

There are two cohorts to the study. Cohort 1 which recruited over 3500 women is due to complete at the end of September. The role holder will manage the completion of data collection for this cohort. Cohort 2 to date has recruited over 200 and the role holder will coordinate the continuing recruitment of this study, working with the Cambridge Breast Unit and a Research Nurse.

Experience of working in a medical research environment is essential as is having previous administrative experience. Some knowledge of research governance and what it means to work within a research framework is also required. The role holder will be expected to work on their own initiative, have demonstrable organization skills and be competent in Microsoft Office and in the use of databases for large scale data management. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with an empathetic telephone manner.

The funding for this post is available until 30th September 2026.

This is a full-time position, and we welcome applications of no less than 0.8 FTE per week
