About the role

The Accelerate Hub   at the Department of Social Policy & Intervention, University of Oxford, is seeking a part time Research Assistant to contribute to the analysis and economic modelling of adolescent development accelerator interventions in Africa. The selected candidate will work closely with the Economic Evaluation Research Team (EERT) to conduct comprehensive reviews of literature and perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses.

At the EERT, we conduct economic decision modelling of combinations of ‘accelerator’ interventions, including economic strengthening (e.g., cash transfers), sexual and reproductive health services, and parenting support. Our research is carried out in close collaboration with international agencies such as UNICEF, WHO, and PEPFAR. The goal is to support policymakers in selecting the most cost-effective interventions for improving the wellbeing of adolescents in developing countries.

This position is full time and is fixed-term to March 2025, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability.

About you

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in development economics and/or global health who have a keen interest in adolescent research. You will hold a first degree and/or master’s degree in Economics, Global Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field. Candidates in the final stages of completing their degree will also be considered.

You will be based in Oxford as your normal place of work however there is opportunity for remote working.
