Lecturer in Russian Politics

The Department of History, Politics, and Philosophy is pleased to invite applications for a 0.3 FTE, 2-year fixed-term lectureship in Russian politics. The primary role of the successful applicant will be to support the delivery of undergraduate modules, specifically Contemporary Russian politics. Other responsibilities will include the supervision of undergraduate dissertations and acting as a personal tutor.

Situated within the Arts & Humanities Faculty, The Department of History, Politics and Philosophy brings together the expertise of over 50 academic staff. The History team share an interest in European, American, Eastern histories, stretching from the Ancient to the Contemporary period. We have a long tradition of publicly engaged research and work extensively with partners across the region.

• The successful candidate for this post will be an expert in Russian politics. They will hold a good first degree and a doctorate in a relevant subject area. They should have experience of teaching politics with a decolonising approach at undergraduate level.

• Our staff have a variety of research specialisms including US foreign policy, the EU, political philosophy, civil society and social movement studies, energy politics, and critical approaches to international relations.
